As regular CFZ-watchers will know, for some time Corinna has been doing a column for Animals & Men and a regular segment on On The Track... particularly about out-of-place birds and rare vagrants. There seem to be more and more bird stories from all over the world hitting the news these days so, to make room for them all - and to give them all equal and worthy coverage - she has set up this new blog to cover all things feathery and Fortean.

Is cruising for the birds? Not for this parrot

Even exotic African parrots like to cruise, apparently.
A British new outlet today has the heartwarming story of a Liverpool cab driver who has been reunited with a prized pet parrot thanks to the quick action of a crew member on a German cruise ship.
The Liverpool Echo says the African Grey parrot, named Geordie, was discovered Thursday perched on a deck of the 536-passenger Albatros while the ship was docked in Liverpool. The crew member caught the bird and brought it to port authorities, who in turn contacted a local animal welfare organization. The organization was able to reunite the bird with its owners.
